Manchester United are desperately looking to sign a new left back before the transfer window closes on Friday and they could turn to Brentford fullback Rico Henry as a last minute option.

The Red Devils are in the hunt for a new left back before the end of the week, after the news broke that Luke Shaw will miss at least two months with a muscular injury.

United have been linked with a whole host of players during the last week, with Rico Henry the latest player to be linked with a move to Manchester before Friday’s deadline.

Henry has played an essential role in Brentford’s side over the past seven seasons, as he became on of the key players in the Bees side that was promoted from the Championship in 2021.

The fullback has played over 30 games for Brentford in each of his seasons in the Premier League, proving that he is worthy of the top flight in his past two years.

Henry is just one of many potential signings Manchester United have lined up, with the Reds also interested in Marc Cucurella, Sergio Reguilon and Marcos Alonso who all have Premier League experience.

United aren’t the only ones impressed with Henry, as the Englishman could be in line for his first international call up during the next break in a couple of weeks, with Gareth Southgate also looking for a Luke Shaw replacement.

With one assist in his first three matches this season, Henry has looked as good as ever for a Brentford side that still remain unbeaten in the league.

United on the other hand have won 2/3 of their matches so far, with the Red Devils bouncing back from a loss to Tottenham last weekend with a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest.

Erik Ten Hag’s side face Arsenal next Sunday, so the United boss will be hoping to have a new left back secured by the time they have to visit the Emirates.
