Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly set a £45m price tag on star midfielder, Ruben Neves, as rumours over a possible departure start to circulate.
Wolves currently sit 13th in the Premier League, after a season that has been full of ups and downs. Wins over Liverpool and Tottenham have shown the capability of Julen Lopetegui’s side have, however consistency has let the Spaniard’s side down.
Portuguese international, Ruben Neves, has been a pillar in the Wolves midfield since signing in 2017, making 251 appearances and contributing to 43 goals in the process.
His deal at Molineux is set to expire in 2024 and a renewal is reportedly unlikely, as the 26-year-old is looking to play Champions League football.
A variety of clubs have been linked with the Wolves ace, with La Liga giants, Barcelona, showing heavy interest in the want-away midfielder. However, the Premier League side have priced Neves at ‘£45m’, a fee that could cause problems in negotiations.

Barcelona were crowned La Liga champions last night, after beating Espanyol in the deciding fixture. The Spanish side have been superb in the league, conceding only two goals at home.
European performances have been the downfall for Xavi’s side, as they were eliminated in the Champions League group stages and then subsequently entered into the Europa League round of 16 play-off, where they lost yet again to Manchester United.
This poor display has made success in Europe a priority for next season, with plans to bolster their squad tremendously.
However, with the club’s recent financial issues, that could see a ban be put in place on any transfer dealings in the summer, means Neves could be a difficult deal to finalise.
The Catalan club are not the only interested party, with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool also showing interest in the former Porto midfielder. The reds look set to have a huge overhaul in the centre of the field, as Alexis Mac Allister and Mason Mount have also been linked with a move to Anfield.
