As the league leaders prepare themselves for an intensive Premier League title run-in with Manchester City, the board are already turning their attention to the summer window, and the latest Arsenal transfer news suggests a shake-up could be in order in the wide attacking position.

Although the main priority for come the summer appears to be bolstering the middle of the park, with Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo among the players shortlisted, the latest Arsenal transfer news also divulges their renewed interest in Wilfried Zaha.

The Crystal Palace talisman has long been linked with a move across the Thames, having been on the verge of joining back in the summer of 2019, only for the Gunners to drop a club-record fee on bringing Nicolas Pepe to the Emirates.

However, a fresh twist in the perpetual Arsenal-Zaha rumour mill sees the North Londoners renew their interest as the Ivorian’s contract enters its final six months, as reported by FootMercato’s Santi Aouna.

Although it is no secret that the league leaders are preparing to spend big in the summer, the prospect of a free transfer may be too good to pass up.

Reinforcing their squad depth will be a top priority once the season concludes, regardless of whether they can hold off City with eight games to play – recent results have highlighted the gulf in available resources between the league’s frontrunners.

Although Zaha wouldn’t necessarily be a guaranteed starter, Pep Guardiola’s rotation is key to remaining in contention for multiple titles.

Their interest in Zaha is also likely sparked by the possibility of losing Reiss Nelson. The Hale End product has been at the club since 2007, but it seems the two parties are some way off finding common ground for a renewal.

This has put a host of clubs on alert according to various reports, with Brighton, Fulham, West Ham, and a reunion with former manager Unai Emery at Aston Villa all touted as possible destinations.

It is believed the 23-year-old’s preference would be to remain at his boyhood club however.
