Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has delivered his prediction for this evening’s Champions League first-leg quarter-final tie against Real Madrid, claiming his Blues side will come out on top with a 3-0 scoreline.
Premier League side Chelsea take on Real Madrid in the Spanish capital this evening, as they face off in the first-leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.
The pair are the last two teams to win the coveted trophy. Madrid are the reigning champions from last year, and the Blues the year prior.
Former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti will be reunited with his former club too, having led Los Blancos to the last eight via a 6-2 aggregate win over Liverpool.
It wasn’t as straightforward for the Blues however, as they fought from 1-0 down to defeat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 on aggregate under, now sacked, Graham Potter.
Frank Lampard has a huge task on his hands to inspire Chelsea to victory this evening.
His side are without a win in their previous four matches in all competitions, as Real Madrid have won four of their last six matches.
Predictions for the tie all seem to be going the way of the Spaniards, but poor form and world class opposition won’t be a problem for Chelsea this evening, according to club owner Todd Boehly.
Todd Boehly Prediction
Speaking to reporters in Madrid, Boehly confidently backed his side for victory.
“Chelsea’s going to win,” said Boehly when asked for a prediction.
Boehly was then asked for a scoreline, and something to say to the fans after a difficult 10 days.
“I say have a lot of faith, and we’re going to win 3-0 tonight,
“The future is bright and we’re excited about tonight.”
