ADNAAN (system – Ardad, fresh, turf)
Progeny of the sire Ardad have a good record when fresh, showing a profit on their racecourse debuts and when rested for at last eight weeks subsequently. They also prefer turf to the all-weather and had we backed all the grass runners, after a break of at least eight weeks since their most recent outing, we’d have won 11 of our 66 bets and made a profit of £6.88 to a £1 level stake at SP. That’s only 10.4% profit on turnover but that improves to 37.9% (+£25.00) at the best early price the evening before racing. ADNAAN looks well drawn in stall 12 of 14 in this 6f handicap and should go well on his reappearance. He caught the eye in a heavy-ground 5f handicap here on his final start last term, getting going too late and running on into a 50-1 sixth of 17.
NAAS 3.10
SPANISH TENOR (system – 7f handicaps, Naas, Stall 12+)
Since the beginning of 2014, backing all horses drawn in stall 12 or higher in 7f handicaps at Naas would have found 14 winners from 98 bets for a profit of £99.98. That’s an impressive return given that there were multiple qualifiers in some races. SPANISH TENOR (stall 12 of 12) raced over 5f, 6f and 1m on his final three starts last season but five of his six wins have come over 7f-7.5f and the return to this trip will suit. He was 16-1 when landing this race from stall 13 on his reappearance last year (beating stall 12 into second place) and has done well on the draw front again, emerging top of the shop in stall 12 of 12.
