Henry De Bromhead With Nine Runners On Cheltenham Day 4
Henry De Bromhead has never been the top trainer at the Cheltenham Festival but has lots of excellent horses running at this year’s meeting. However, the Irish trainer has won the Gold Cup the past two years with Minella Indo and A Plus Tard respectively.
Plus, he had also won the last two Champion Hurdles with Honeysuckle prior to this year, where she ran in the Mares’ Hurdle instead and won on her last start as a racehorse.
The 50-year-old racing trainer will be hoping to replicate this form with a stellar showing at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival.
De Bromhead has 18 winners to his name in the Cheltenham Festival over the years, not including this year. This includes two Gold Cup’s, two Champion Hurdles and three Queen Mother Champion Chases to name but a few.
On Day 4, Henry De Bromhead has nine runners on Friday 17th March. These runners include both former Gold Cup winners in A Plus Tard and Minella Indo, who will both be looking for their second Gold Cup triumph on the final day of Cheltenham.

The two-time Gold Cup winner with Minella Indo (2021) and A Plus Tard (2022) also has seven more runners along with his two Gold Cup hopefuls on Day 4.
Chris’s Dream seems to have a decent chance in the Hunters’ Chase (4.10pm), with Magic Daze in the Mares’ Chase (4.50pm) and Hiddenvalley Lake in the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle (2.50pm) just a few more of his Day 4 hopefuls around the Cheltenham track.
He also has a few massive outsiders on Day 4 too at Cheltenham this year, with the likes of Ascending at 40/1 in the Triumph Hurdle, Ballyadam at 25/1 in the County Handicap Hurdle and Spirit Of Legend at 25/1 in the Jockey’s Handicap Hurdle.
De Bromhead is also priced at 16/1 as the fourth favourite to be the 2023 Cheltenham Festival Top Trainer.
