Won at Leopardstown last time – beating Facile Vega and co that day. Can show that run was no fluke and has Festival experience after a 5th in the Triumph Hurdle here last season.

2.10: Sporting Life Arkle Challenge Trophy Novices’ Chase ITV1 – EL FABIOLO (nb) @ 5/4 with BetUK
Landed the Irish Arkle in eye-catching fashion last time out and is expected to make it 3-from-3 over fences for the Willie Mullins yard. Jonbon looks the main threat but wasn’t that convincing last time at Warwick.

2.50: Ultima Handicap Chase ITV1 – REMASTERED @ 22/1 with BetUK
This is a race the Pipe yard love to win. This 10 year-old was pulled up the last day at Sandown but before that was a good winner at Kempton. If you can forgive that last run looks overpriced.

3.30: Unibet Champion Hurdle Challenge Trophy ITV1 – CONSTITUTION HILL @ 1/3 with BetUK
This should be Constitution Hill first and the rest playing for places. The next big thing in this division and can give trainer Nicky Henderson his 9th Champion Hurdle success. State Man should be booked for second.

4.10: Close Brothers Mares’ Hurdle ITV1 – EPATANTE @ 7/1 with BetUK
Won the 2020 Champion Hurdle but is make in this mares race against her own sex this year. Now a 10 year-old but still loving her racing and loves Cheltenham. Has only been out of the top three once from one 18 runs over hurdles.

4.50: Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle RTV – PERSEUS WAY @ 12/1 with BetUK
The Gary Moore yard are in good form and they look to have a fair chance here. This 4 year-old has won 2 of his 5 starts and hit the top three in them all. A fine second in the Adonis last time out was a solid effort and can go well if repeating that run.

5.30: NH Challenge Cup Novices’ Chase RTV – GAILLARD DU MESNIL @ 10/11 with BetUK
Willie Mullins won this last year and can do so again. Not a quick horse, but that doesn’t matter over his 3m6f trip. Third in the Irish National last season too, so brings a bit of staying class to this race. Patrick Mullins rides.
