Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been left out of Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League squad, ahead of their Round of 16 tie against Borussia Dortmund.

Three of Chelsea’s new January signings Enzo Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk and Joao Felix have all been drafted into their Champions League squad, with Aubameyang losing his place.

New arrivals in forward positions has seen Aubameyang’s game-time limited, with the striker not having started a game for the Blues since November.

Despite not leaving the club during the January transfer window, reports from Spain have claimed that he wants away from the London-club.

Aubameyang started all six group-stage matches for Chelsea and is, astonishingly, their top scorer in the competition this season.

Due to UEFA rulings stating that only three new players can be registered for the knockout stages, Aubameyang isn’t the only one who misses out.

January signings Benoit Badiashile, Noni Madueke and David Datro Fofana all miss out on a place in Graham Potter’s squad.

Hakim Ziyech keeps his place in the Blues’ Champions League squad, just days after his move to Paris-Saint-Germain collapsed at the final hurdle.

Speaking ahead of his side’s tie against Fulham on Friday, Potter admitted some players will be disappointed.

“There’s going to be a few awkward conversations. That’s the reality of where we are,” he said.

“Only 11 can play and only a certain amount can be in squads so there’s always going to be a certain amount who will be disappointed.”

UEFA Champions League betting sites have Chelsea priced at around 16/1 to be crowned champions.
