With Frankie Dettori on the sidelines, due to a whip ban he received at Royal Ascot, some of his intended rides at Newmarket’s July Festival this week have been handed to William Buick.

William Buick To Ride Kinross In Saturday’s July Cup
Frankie Dettori has ridden KINROSS in all of his last 8 races, but the 52 year-old Italian won’t be on his back in this Saturday’s July Cup due to a whip suspension.
Connections have turned to top Godolphin jockey William Buick instead as the ‘boys in blue’ don’t have a runner in the race. It will be Buick’s first ride on the Ralph Beckett-trained 6 year-old, who was last seen running 7th in the QEII Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot last month.
That was his first run back for 231-days so can be expected to have improved for it and Kinross heads into Saturday’s ÂŁ600k July Cup as the top-rated in the race.
Kinross, at the age of 6, will also be looking to become the oldest July Cup winner since Les Arcs in 2006, while since 1921 there have only been two winners aged 6 or older.
Jockey William Buick and trainer Ralph Beckett have never won the July Cup.

Prosperous Voyage Will Also Have William Buick Onboard in Friday’s Falmouth Stakes
Before Saturday’s Group One July Cup, we’ve the only other top-graded race at the Newmarket July Festival – the Falmouth Stakes – on Friday 14th July.
This fillies contest has attracted another decent field that is spearheaded by recent Pretty Polly Stakes winner Via Sistina, who has been installed as the favourite with the best UK bookmakers.
Nashwa and Remarquee are other big names entered, as well as last year’s shock winner PROSPEROUS VOYAGE – another for trainer Ralph Beckett and a horse Frankie Dettori would have ridden had he not been suspended.
12 months ago, Prosperous Voyage took the scalp of the hot 1/7 favourite Inspiral in this event and has returned this season to win the Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom on Derby Day and was last seen running third in the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot. Frankie has ridden her in all her races this year.
However, with Dettori not an option the Andrew Rosen and Marc Chan team have turned to William Buick again, despite jockey Rob Hornby riding the filly to victory in this race last year. Hornby will, instead, ride the other Beckett runner Remarquee in the race.
Buick has never ridden Prosperous Voyage but has won the Falmouth Stakes in the past when steering home Elusive Kate to win in 2013 for trainer John Gosden.
If successfull, Prosperous Voyage will become the first ‘back-to-back’ Falmouth Stakes winner since Soviet Song in 2004 and 2005.

William Buick Rode Regular Dettori Mount Emily Upjohn In Last Weekend’s Coral-Eclipse
With Frankie Dettori having also missed last weekend’s Coral-Eclipse for a separate riding offence at Royal Ascot, William Buick also stepped in to ride his regular mount Emily Upjohn.
The pair ran a gallant second behind the new Aidan O’Brien superstar Paddington, but Frankie is expected to renew his partnership with the Gosden-trained mare in her next race, could be the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on July 29th.
