Has Rob Jones Refereed Tottenham Or Aston Villa This Season?
Rob Jones has been in charge of two Tottenham games in the Premier League this season. The first came on the opening day in a 2-2 draw with Brentford, the second was the north London derby against Arsenal, also ending 2-2.
Jones issued 13 yellow cards in those two games with eight of them being shown to Spurs players. He has also awarded two penalties across those games, one for the Bees Bryan Mbeumo and the other for Bukayo Saka.
Aston Villa have only been officiated once by Jones this campaign, the 1-1 draw with Wolves in October. Five cards were shown that day with two of them going to Villa players.
Ahead of the match, the best UK betting sites make Tottenham the match favourites at 11/8, with the draw 29/10 and Aston Villa at 15/8.

Rob Jones Premier League Referee Stats 2023/24
Rob Jones has taken charge of nine Premier League fixtures this season with his latest coming earlier this month, Sheffield United’s 2-1 win against Wolves at Bramall Lane.
In terms of cards, Jones has shown 48 yellows and one straight red to Burnley’s Lyle Foster for violent conduct in the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in September. He also sent off Wolves’ Mario Lemina and Manchester City‘s Manuel Akanji for two bookable offences.
His busiest game, perhaps unsurprisingly, came in the north London derby whereby he issued seven yellow cards and a penalty.

Premier League VAR Controversies 2023/24
Rob Jones’ main VAR controversy this season came in, you guessed it, the north London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham. Jones awarded a penalty to the Gunners after VAR overturned his original decision not to give it for a Cristian Romero handball from a Ben White shot.
Bukayo Saka made no mistake from the spot but Spurs did level the match a minute later, but the decision still left boss Ange Postecoglou baffled about the handball rule.
Jones will be hoping Sunday’s clash isn’t as controversial as the last Spurs game he officiated and if he were to make any mistakes, he’ll be sure to feel the wrath of Postecoglou.
