Spain and Portugal confirmed two years ago that they would be joining together to attempt to host the 2030 World Cup, and the addition of Ukraine would give it a whole new dimension. Just last month, the Uefa president, Aleksander Ceferin, said he believed Spain and Portugal would put together a “winning bid”.
Ukraine co-hosted Euro 2012 with Poland, and has shown that they can host large-scale events in peacetime.
However, there is competition. Including a similar type of collaboration between Egypt, Greece and Saudi Arabia.
