Bayern haven’t given up on their chase to sign Harry Kane this summer, despite reports that Tottenham will reject their second bid of €80m for the superstar.

Kane scored 30 goals in 38 Premier League matches last season and was yet again Tottenham’s standout player in another disappointing season.

Spurs failed to qualify for the Champions League last year after finishing in eighth place, which leaves them without European football for the first time since 2010.

With no European football next season Kane is reportedly keen on a move to German giants Bayern Munich, where he could win a first domestic trophy of his career.

Bayern reportedly made their first bid for Kane last week in a deal worth around €70m with add-ons, but Tottenham swiftly dismissed the low bid as they value their captain at around €100m.

The two bids came after Kane reportedly held a secret meeting with Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel last week, where he told the boss he wanted a move to Germany in a blockbuster transfer.

Daniel Levy is CEO of Tottenham and the notoriously shrewd businessman seems set soon holding on to his captain this summer, despite the constant pursuit from Bayern.

Kane is just 48 goals away from becoming the Premier League’s all time top goalscorer, but the 29-year-old could be forced to sacrifice Alan Shearer’s record in the hope of winning a trophy elsewhere.

Even though their lates bid is set to be rejected by Tottenham, Bayern still remain firm favourites to sign Kane this summer and a third improved bid is expected in the coming weeks.
