With Leicester City now managerless following the departure of Brendan Rodgers, we’re taking a look at the top five candidates to become the next Foxes manager.
It felt as though it was a long time coming, but Brendan Rodgers and Leicester City have finally parted ways.

The former Liverpool boss enjoyed a four-year spell at the King Power, during which he led the Foxes to their maiden FA Cup trophy, as well as a Community Shield title.
He also guided the club back into Europe, finishing fifth in the Premier League during his first full season at the club – seeing them qualify for the Europa League for the 2020/21 season.
Their FA Cup triumph saw them qualify for Europe once more in the 2021/22 season, where they reached their first ever European semi-final, losing out to Jose Mourinho’s Roma as they exited the Europa Conference League.
It was a different story for the Northern Irishman this term however. Languishing in the relegation zone, a quarter-final Carabao Cup exit and a fifth round FA Cup exit to Championship opposition, the 2022/23 season has been nothing short of a disaster.
Now, with his time in the Midlands officially over, we’re taking a look at the top five candidates to become the next Leicester manager.
5. Ange Postecoglou
Coming in as the bookies’ fifth favourite to take over the vacant role at the King Power is Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou.
Of course, Rodgers himself made the move from Celtic to Leicester four years ago, so a move for the Scottish Premiership leaders‘ boss isn’t too unlikely.
Bookies have priced the Australian-Greek manager at 9/1 to become the next Leicester City manager.
Postecoglou has enjoyed a successful time in Glasgow since joining from Yokohama F. Marinos back in 2021.
He has led the Celts to two Scottish League Cups as well as a Scottish Premiership title, and is on course for another league title, as well as being in the Scottish Cup semi-final.
4. Ralph Hassenhuttl
Former Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has been identified as the fourth favourite to become the next Foxes manager.
The Austrian has been priced at 8/1 to take over from Brendan Rodgers.
Hasenhuttl is yet to return to management following his dismissal back in November, but a return to the Premier League may be suited for the 55-year-old.
His experience with the Saints is well documented of course, but he also has experience in the Bundesliga with Ingolstadt and RB Leipzig.
3. Adam Sadler
Current joint-caretaker boss Adam Sadler is the bookmakers’ third favourite to take over permanently at Leicester.
Sadler, who is also part of the Northern Irish national team’s coaching staff, is priced at 7/1 by the bookies to become the next permanent Foxes manager.
The 43-year-old is Leicester’s joint-caretaker for the second time, having previously taken over alongside Mike Stowell after the departure of Claude Puel back in February 2019.
His first game in charge that time saw the Foxes overcome Brighton with a 2-1 scoreline, but it didn’t work out in his favour for his first match this time around.
Alongside Stowell once more, Leicester were narrowly defeated 2-1 by Aston Villa as Bertrand Traore netted an 87th minute winner for the visitors after Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s red card.
2. Graham Potter
They say as one door closes, another one opens, and this is certainly appropriate in Graham Potter’s case.
The recently sacked Chelsea boss has been priced at 4/1, the second favourite in the running to take over at Leicester City.
It’s a move that would certainly make sense, however, according to reports, the Englishman has rejected an approach by the Midlands club.
Potter is said to be wanting a break following his disappointing tenure as Blues boss.

1. Rafa Benitez
And the favourite to take over the vacant role at the King Power is former Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle and Everton boss Rafa Benitez.
With a wealth of experience in the Premier League, Benitez has been priced at 5/2 as the favourite to become the next Foxes manager.
Not only does Benitez have experience in the English top flight, but also with Spanish giants Real Madrid, as well as Valladolid, Osasuna, Valencia, Inter and Napoli.
The Spaniard is best remembered for leading Liverpool to the Champions League title back in 2004/05.
Benitez was also at the helm when Chelsea won the Europa League title back in 2012/13.
