The Real Whacker Odds For King George VI Chase 2023
The Patrick Neville-trained THE REAL WHACKER was last seen being pulled up in the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham last month.
However, prior to that run he beat Gerri Colombe in the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival and the return to a longer trip in the King George will be more up his street.
The Real Whacker also had to shoulder 12st last time on his first run back for 248-days and is expected to have improved for that outing. This will be his first run at Kempton but there is no reason to suggest it won’t suit as he often likes to race up with the pace.
Jockey Sam Twiston-Daves will continue in the saddle and he’s got winning King George form having won the prize in 2019 for trainer Paul Nicholls. At just 7 years-old, The Real Whacker is the youngest King George runners this year, while with just four career runs over fences there should also be a lot more improvement in the locker.
