Tottenham are reportedly considering a move for Lille forward Jonathan David as a Harry Kane replacement if their record goalscorer is to move on this summer.

Jonathan David Considered As Harry Kane Replacement

Kane has been subject to plenty of interest from heavyweight European clubs this summer including Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

Bayern have already seen a £70million bid rejected for Kane, who is entering the final year of his Spurs contract.

The North London club are considering multiple replacements including David, and are also known to admire Dusan Vlahovic. However, it is said that PSG lead the race to sign the Juventus wonderkid.

David has two years left on his contract at Lille, and has scored 58 goals in 136 appearances for the club. The Canadian forward is said to be valued at around £50m and could accept an offer if the cash is right.

He has 40 caps for his country, with 24 goals scored in that time. David also has a terrific injury history, only missing three games due to injury or illness in his entire career.

Replacing both Spurs’ and England’s record goalscorer in Kane will not be easy but David ticks a lot of boxes. He scored 26 goals last season, and has demonstrated he has the ability to be a prolific goalscorer. This will be seen as a positive by the Premier League club’s hierarchy.

Ange Postecoglou is said to be a huge fan of Jonathan David and could pursue a deal if Kane departs the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
