Sevilla vs PSV Preview
The fates of both Sevilla and PSV in Europe could be decided this week, as the pair prepare to face off in their penultimate group match of the campaign in one of two early kick-offs on Wednesday evening.
Sevilla are still on the hunt for their first win of the group, and despite being winless, they can still advance to the last-16. To do that, they’ll need to beat PSV on Wednesday, and hope that Arsenal beat Lens in the group’s other fixture later in the evening, and they’ll then need to beat Lens themselves on Matchday 6, and rely on Arsenal beating PSV too.
A win for PSV on in Seville will put them in good stead for a top two finish, as they will likely move up into second place. The Dutch outfit reigning victorious would also mean that Sevilla won’t be able to finish higher than third, therefore the battle for the final qualification spot would be between PSV and Lens.
The visitors are in excellent form heading into this one, boasting five wins from their last five competitive matches. Their last defeat came over two months ago in a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Arsenal on Matchday 1.
As for the hosts, they are without a win in four straight matches, with their only win in their last 11 matches coming against sixth tier CD Quintanar in the Copa del Rey at the start of November.
