Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino is set to link up with Edouard Mendy at Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli following his departure from Liverpool.

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confrimed that Roberto Firmino has reached full verbal agreement to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli.

Firmino will become the latest in a long list of ex-Premier League stars to make the switch to the Middle Eastern league.

He will link up with former Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, who completed his move to Al-Ahli just last week for around £16million.

Romano revealed that a medical still needs to be completed, and once that is done, the move will be finalised.

The latest on Firmino’s Saudi switch was released on Romano’s social media accounts.

“Understand Roberto Firmino has now reached full verbal agreement with Al Ahli, here we go!” he tweeted.

“Medical tests still pending — final step to get the deal signed.

“Contract will be valid until June 2026.

“Firmino would join Édouard Mendy in case deal will be completed.”

Firmino’s Liverpool departure has been well publicised for several months, with the forward confirming mid-season that he would leave on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract.

Even though the Brazilian had less of an involvement this term, he still managed to score 11 Premier League goals, as well as four league assists.

Likely his most memorable phase with the Reds came when he was part of the lethal front-three that comprised of him, Mohamed Salah, and Sadio Mane.

A Champions League title, a Premier League title, an FA Cup, a Carabao Cup, a Super Cup, a Club World Cup and one Community Shield sees Firmino depart as a club legend, as he moves on to the next chapter in his career.
