Since the beginning of 2015, Jane Chapple-Hyam is 33 from 134 with her last-time out winners (24.6% strike-rate) for a profit of £69.63 to a £1 level stake at SP. MISS CANDY arrives here on a hat-trick after two wins at Yarmouth and should be suited by this straight 7f. She’s drawn higher than ideal but early speed rather than the draw was more important and the last meeting here and she tends to race prominently.

REBELLIOUS SPIRIT (system – Clive Cox, second-tie out 2yos, quick return)
REBELLIOUS SPRIRIT ran green when last of eight at Chepstow on his debut 13 days ago and might be worth a small each-way interest now switched to the all-weather. Clive Cox does well with his second-time out juveniles who are returned to the track within a fortnight, scoring with 12 of the 47 qualifiers in the past ten years for a small profit. Seventeen of the 35 beaten horses finished second, third or fourth and he could sneak into the frame at a big price.

ONE MORNING (system – raced freely when winning last time out)
Horses who won despite being described as having ‘raced freely’ often make good bets next time out, with 33 of the 104 qualifiers winning since the spring of 2016 (341.8% strike-rate) for a profit of £58.43. ONE MORNING failed to settle when scoring at Newmarket last time and could offer a spot of value against the unbeaten LAUREL.
