LINGFIELD 2.45
MACCHIAVELLO (system – low-drawn Kempton handicap winners next time out)
The usual bias to low-drawn runners has gone missing in the past 12 months or so at Kempton and ducking up the inside rail to challenge is rarely advised. Since the start of October last year, those who won a Kempton handicap from stalls 1, 2 or 3 were probably doing so against the bias and made good bets to follow up, landing 27 of their 100 starts of ÂŁ40.08 to a ÂŁ1 level stake at SP. MACCHIAVELLO, who scored from stall 1 in a 6f Kempton handicap on September 7th, is taken to follow up.
WARWICK 4.10
LITTLE BRUCE (system – Charlie Longsdon, September)
Charlie Longsdon has a 62 from 240 record (25.8% strike-rate) with his runners in the month of September and has three interesting at Warwick today. LITTLE BRUCE, runner-up from the front at Uttoxeter last time, has the running style that is so effective at this venue and might prove best of the trio.
LISTOWEL 4.20
HIMALAYAN BEAUTY (system – The Gurkha, 9f-10f)
Progeny of sire The Gurkha have fared extremely well over 1m1f-1m2f, landing 26 of their 138 starts for a huge profit of ÂŁ199.95. HIMALAYAN BEAUTY left her race in the stalls when a 33-1 last of 12 at Gowran Park last time and looks worth another chance at similarly big odds.
WARWICK 4.45
JOLY MAKER (system – J P McManus, Warwick handicaps, 2m4f+)
Owner J P McManus has a great record with his Warwick handicappers over 2m4f or further, scoring with 15 of the 60 qualifiers since 2015 for a profit of ÂŁ67.00. Backing all McManus-owned runners in Class 5 jumps handicaps in Britain would have shown a healthy profit this century and JOLY MAKER qualifies on both counts.
NEWCASTLE 6.30
FORCEFUL SPEED (system – New Bay, top three finish last time out)
Backing all progeny of the sire New Bay who finished in the top three on their latest outing would have found 89 winners from 279 runners (31.9% strike-rate) for a profit of £99.27 to a £1 level stake at SP. George Boughey does exceptionally well when trying to get a last-time-out winner to follow up and FORCEFUL SPEED, who broke her duck on Wolverhampton’s Tapeta surface when stepped up beyond 6f for the first time, can go in again.
