The inside rail continues to ride ‘dead’ at Lingfield, putting those drawn low at a disadvantage. COUNT OTTO (stall 1 of 8) has obvious form claim in the 6f handicap (3.00) but his inside berth isn’t ideal and he was drawn widest of all in stall 10 (once adjusted for non-runners) when a neck second over track and trip last time (winner drawn in stall 8). Rather than oppose him in then Spreadex 50-25-10 market I’m going to buy DOUBLE DRAW OF WINNER at 8.1, as the two I like in the race are drawn in stalls 6 (TYGER BAY) and 8 (LAHAG).
PUNCHESTOWN 2.35
MITIVA failed to settle when a four-length third at Tramore last time and, while not hard up against the inside rail where the ground was swamp-like, she did challenge closer to it than the pair who beat her. The first-time hood could help her to race less enthusiastically in the early stages and Liz Doyle’s six-year-old is taken to record a first success since her debut in a Thurles bumper almost two years ago. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price (3-1 at the time of writing).
