Premier League Transfer News Exclusive: Big Six Among Those Expected To Raid Sporting Lisbon & Benfica In Summer Transfer Window


Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle United scouts are expected to attend Sporting Lisbon vs Benfica on Thursday.

The cup semi-final promises to be a cracking clash between Portugal’s top two clubs and a host of potential summer signings will be on show.

Defender Ousmane Diomande, midfielder Morten Hjulmand and forwards Pedro Goncalves, Marcus Edwards and Viktor Gyokeres are among the Sporting players being checked out by Premier League talent spotters.

The Premier League sides are also expected to monitor Benfica defender Antonio Silva, midfielder Joao Neves and experienced front man Rafa Silva.

Liverpool’s interest in Goncalo Inacio continues, as they have tracked him across the past two seasons and feel he could be a big addition to their squad as they look to the future, but he is set to miss the match with injury.

The player has a £52 million release clause and Manchester United have also been linked – but United have kept close tabs too on Silva who has a clause closer to £85 million.

Hjulmand is a player that has caught the eye of Spurs while their former youth star Edwards is catching the eye of many top sides.

Gyokeres is a star name in Portugal this season and has admirers throughout the European game, with Chelsea the English club most heavily linked.

Benfica youngsters Tomas Araujo and Marcos Leonardo are also all on the radar of top clubs though as they break through.
