In 2024 the PGA Tour will return to a calendar-year season for the first time in a decade with 39 regular season events and an additional eight in the post-playoff ‘fall series’.
According to an exclusive from Golfweek, the Tour returns to a calendar-year season next year beginning in the first week of January with The Sentry and finishing shortly before Christmas at the PNC Championship.
12 non-major events have elevated status including bigger prize purses and smaller fields, which now incorporates The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Only four of the dozen elevated events will feature a 36-hole cut – the Players Championship, Genesis Invitational, Memorial Tournament and Arnold Palmer Invitational.
The others will feature a maximum field of 80 players with a cut to 50, whilst the Players remains a full-field event. There won’t be a 36-hole cut at the AT&T, RBC Heritage, Wells Fargo Championship or Travelers Championship in 2024.
