Nassalam Grand National 2024 Odds

In what was a breathtaking success in the Welsh Grand National, Nassalam bolted up by a staggering 34 lengths after being smashed into 9/2 favourite for the contest before the off.

Caoilin Quinn gave the horse a peach of a ride and tracked the front runners early on before moving into the lead after the 18th fence, where he refused to be headed and opened up to top off a magnificent day for trainer Gary Moore. It was also a special day for Quinn who rode the winner in the Grade 2 Juvenile Hurdle on Salver just 40 minutes prior.

Moore immediately said after the race that Nassalam would be headed for the Randox Grand National next April, which then saw him move into 25/1. Next year’s renewal looks to be an open contest with the current shorted price in the race at around 16/1.

He’s now showed that he can stay at least 3m6½f so the step up to 4m+ may just suit the classy six-year-old. Nassalam looks to be a real stayer after proving himself at longer distances now and the Moore-trained gelding has now won five times over fences from 13 runs.

Moore is yet to win the Grand National in his time as a trainer and Nassalam could be one of his best chances yet.
