Manchester United and Liverpool could battle it out for unsettled Atletico midfielder Marcos Llorente, with the highly rated Spaniard reportedly open to a Premier League move.

Atletico have reportedly set a €60m asking price on Marcos Llorente’s head, with a move to England looking likely this summer.

Liverpool have already completely transformed their midfield in this window, with two high profile signings already arriving at Anfield before pre season.

Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai both arrive with high expectations this summer, but Jurgen Klopp could yet add to his new midfield with Llorente a target.

Jordan Henderson could be making a surprising move to Saudi Arabia to join former teammate and manager Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq, which could free up room for a Llorente transfer.

Manchester United appear to have also entered the race for Llorente this summer, with Erik Ten Hag keen on bringing in another midfielder alongside Mason Mount.

Having already secured Mount in this window, United are expected to also confirm a deal with Inter for goalkeeper Andre Onana with a formal bid coming soon.

After Onana and Mount, United are keen to sign a new striker this summer with Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta seen as Erik Ten Hag’s preference to lead the line this season.

Once all those signings are over the line, United can finally turn their attention to a new midfielder and if Liverpool aren’t careful the Red Devils could make a swoop for Llorente.

United have Champions League football next season, while Liverpool will be playing Europa League after a disappointing Premier League season last year.

The prospect of Champions League football could be enough to persuade Llorente to move to Manchester this summer, with the unhappy 28-year-old looking for a move away from Spain.
