Manchester City survived a late scare away at Sheffield United winning 2-1 at Bramall Lane. The Blades thought they’d equalised late on, but Rodri fired in a winner for City on the 89th minute. Check out the latest Sheffield United relegation odds following the action.
Story Of The Game
The Blades held their own for much of the first half before John Egan gave away a penalty after handling the ball in the area. Erling Haaland stepped up but couldn’t find the back of the net as he smashed the post with his spot kick.
It was a tough afternoon at the office for the Norwegian as he was doubled up on every time the ball came close to him by Sheffield United defenders.
However, City did eventually prevail just after the hour mark when Haaland headed home a superb Jack Grealish cross. Pep Guardiola’s side finally led after plenty of missed chances and solid defending from the Blades.

The home side were tough to break down, and City were involved in a cynical physical battle from the off – something that did not entirely suit the visitors.
Late on, United started to grow into the game and after not registering a single shot before the 70th minute mark, they eventually scored an equaliser. Jayden Bogle fired a terrific strike beyond Ederson, sending Bramall Lane into oblivion.
Despite the Blades goal, City managed to find a way of spoiling the party. The Premier League champions found themselves ahead just three minutes later as the ball fell to Rodri in the box, and he made no mistake in smashing the ball home to score the winner.
