Casemiro is interested in a move to the Saudi Pro League – even if he has to wait until the summer.

Casemiro Next Club

Manchester United continue to hold reservations about letting him and Rafael Varane leave together this month – even though it is clear they are willing to move beyond both players from next season.

At a time when players are beginning to turn on the Saudi project, sources have declared to SportsLens that Casemiro is not put off by the prospect of it being his next destination.

However, Varane’s future at United is also unclear and the club want to tread carefully around the prospect of losing both because of the impact it would have on the experience and leadership within the squad as they progress through the second half of the season.

As part of Ineos’ arrival at Old Trafford this year, the club is undergoing a deep clean. The squad will be sharpened across the next two transfer windows with player exits opening the door for players of a higher calibre and potential to move in.

Al-Hilal Interested In Casemiro

But such planning would be aligned with big signings arriving in the summer and the loss of Casemiro or Varane in January could only be deemed acceptable if the financial benefits around it were significant.

Casemiro, 32, is due back from injury soon but has not lived up to past standards so far this season. Club officials have held conversations with teams in Saudi, with Al-Hilal one of those interested, but it is understood talks were guided towards setting up a summer move.

That would suit United as they are open to selling him but also do not want to make signings in this current transfer window.

At a time when Varane is also weighing up the prospect of signing a new contract on lower terms or leaving the club, he is also suited to setting up a future transfer and leaving in the summer.

United seem intent on sticking to the stance that if anyone is to come into the club this month it will only be a loan.
