Man United have breezed through their semi-final clash with Nottingham Forest, setting up a final against Newcastle United.

Their 3-0 first leg victory made the task difficult for Nottingham Forest. Despite some first half efforts from the travelling team, Man United showed why they’re favourites to win the trophy.

With the second half drawing to a slow end, ten Hag flexed his team’s depth. He brought on Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho. The latter received a big applause as he made his first appearance since October after taking a step away for his mental and physical health.

It was one of these subs that got the game’s opener. Martial reacted quickest to a tackle on Rashford to slot home the game’s opening goal.

Shortly after this, Rashford was in the box again and this time found Fred who tapped in on the goal line.

The game came to a slow end with both sides making changes to rest key players and give run-outs to those returning from injury.

Nottingham Forest will be disappointed to go out, but they’ll take pride in reaching the semi-finals. The focus for Steve Cooper and his side will now turn to keeping their Premier League status.
