Latest Ultima Handicap Chase Odds – Into Overdrive Heads The Betting
The Cheltenham odds on the third race of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival indicate that Into Overdrive will go off as the betting favourite to win the Ultima Handicap Chase.
The 8-year-old gelding currently heads the market at odds of around 6/1 with the best horse racing betting sites. Into Overdrive has won on five of his last six starts, with a close second place finish being L’Homme Presse in Newcastle his only non-winning run in his last six.
The British racehorse has never raced at Cheltenham before, never mind in the Festival. However, given how strong he has looked in recent races, it comes as absolutely no surprise to see him set as the bookies favourite in the Ultima Handicap Chase.
He certainly looks like one of the strongest horses in the race and is certainly the one to beat here in the third race of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival.

Trainer Mark Walford has real faith in his 8-year-old and will be hoping for the best possible start at this year’s Festival. If Into Overdrive were to go on to win the Ultima, this would be Walford’s first ever Cheltenham Festival winner as a trainer.
Into Overdrive’s biggest threat in the race comes from the Lucinda Russell trained Corach Rambler. He is the second favourite in the Ultima Handicap Chase on Tuesday and it is clear to see why. He won this race 12 months ago and is looking to go back-to-back in the Ultima. The Irish gelding is priced at odds of around 7/1 with the best Cheltenham betting sites.
Some other threats may come from the likes of Nassalam, The Goffer, Happygolucky and Oscar Elite. However, if Into Overdrive is on top form, he will be hard to stop here in the Ultima on Day 1 of the Cheltenham Festival.
