Securing tickets for the Masters is nearly as challenging as earning a spot to play in the tournament itself. SportsLens takes a look at how much it costs to go to the Masters this year
Taking place at the renowned Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, the tournament will commence on April 8th with initial practice rounds, followed by official competition days extending through to April 14th.
As the countdown to the arrival of some of the world’s top golfers in Georgia nears its concluson, now is the perfect opportunity to learn how to secure tickets for the Masters tournament.
How Much Does it Cost to go to the Masters?
Prices for the original standard tickets, which are now sold out, differ depending on the date. These tickets are acquired through an annual lottery held the year prior.
In recent years, tickets obtained through the lottery have typically ranged from £80 to £115, varying based on whether they are for practice rounds or official competition days.
A select few individuals possess lifelong patron badges, but currently, individuals hoping to acquire one cannot even join the waiting list. Moreover, patron badges are priced at approximately £250. Those at the forefront of the queue will eagerly await the opportunity if any badges become available for return.
However, the last opportunity to obtain a badge was in 2000, so it’s best not to get too excited about this possibility.
While resale tickets come at a higher price, they remain the sole option available for those seeking to attend the tournament in person. On third-party platforms such as StubHub and Vividseats, the lowest prices for US Masters tickets begin at £791 for the first practice day of the tournament.
Additionally, resale websites offer multi-day packages, including 2-day and 4-day options for both practice and competition days. The 2-day packages commence at £3,490, while the 4-day packages start at £5,020.
How To Get Masters Tickets For 2025
The easiest way to get Masters tickets would be to apply for the lottery. New applicants have the opportunity to register for next year’s lottery on the official Masters website. The application window will be open from June 1 to June 20, with payments becoming available in mid-July.
However, before you decide to apply for tickets, there are a few crucial factors you should be aware of:
- You must be 21 years of age to be eligible for tickets.
- Only one application per person and household will be accepted.
- Although you have the option to apply for tickets for multiple days, eligibility will only be granted for a single day.
Who Will Play At The 2024 Masters?
Expected to participate in this year’s Masters tournament are the usual faces: Jon Rahm – who is looking to win back-to-back editions – as well as Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Viktor Hovland, and Tiger Woods.
While the majority of the lineup consists of professionals, there are also a few amateurs set to participate this year, including Santiago De La Fuente, Stewart Hagestad, Christo Lamprecht, Neal Shipley, and Jasper Stubbs.
In a bid to enhance global interest in golf, the tournament has extended special invitations to high-ranking international players who didn’t qualify through other means. This year, Thorbjørn Olesen from Denmark, Ryo Hisatsune from Japan, and Joaquin Niemann from Chile have accepted these invitations to participate.
