Horse Racing Trends On Saturday 13th January 2024: The Lanzarote Hurdle and Classic Chase Headline
The ITV Racing cameras will be busy this Saturday (13th January 2024) as they are at three tracks – Wetherby, Kempton and Warwick – to cover eight races from the three venues.
Warwick just about gets the top-billing with four of the eight LIVE ITV races that are spearheaded by the Classic Chase (3:00pm) – a race that 72% of the last 18 winners carried 11st 3lbs or less, were aged between 7-9 and also came from outside the top three in the betting.
At Wetherby ITV will show the Grade 2 Towton Novices’ Chase (1:10pm), where all eyes will be on the Jamie Snowden-trained Colonel Harry, who is the hot favourite with the best UK horse racing betting sites. 82% of the last 17 winners hailed from the top three in the betting, with 47% of those running being won by the favourite.
Then finally at Kempton, we’ve three more LIVE ITV races that include the super-competitive Lanzarote Hurdle (2:42pm). It’s a race the Nicky Henderson yard have won three times in the last 11 runnings and have a strong hand with the JP McManus-owned Impose Toi and King Alexander.
The Lanzarote Hurdle trends also tell us that trainer Gary Moore has a good record (3 wins), while a massive 86% of the last 22 winners were aged 7 or younger. This age stat means you can rule out seven of the 19 runners.
We’ve also got the Silviniaco Conti Chase (2:07pm) at Kempton and despite only five runners it’s still a nice little renewal with former Arkle Novices’ Chase winner Edwardstone, former Cheltenham Festival hero Banbridge and last year’s hero Pic D’Orhy back for more.
