Best Cheltenham Offers For Day 3
Gordon Elliott With 18 Runners On Cheltenham Day 3
Gordon Elliott has been the top trainer before at both the 2017 & 2018 Cheltenham Festivals. In 2017, he won six races, including three seconds and three third place finishes too. The following year in 2018, Elliott again had a strong year boasting an incredible eight wins, one second and six thirds. The Irish racing trainer will be hoping to replicate this form with a stellar showing at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival.
Elliott has 25 winners to his name in the Cheltenham Festival over the years prior to this year. However, he has won just one of the ‘big’ Cheltenham races before. This year, he will be hoping for more with some outstanding horses on show across the four days.
On Day 3, Gordon Elliott has 17 runners on Thursday 16th March. These rides include Mighty Potter who contests the Turners Novices’ Chase, Fury Road in the Ryanair Chase and Teahupoo in the Stayers’ Hurdle to name but a few.
Elliott also has 14 more runners on Day 3, with various runners in the Pertemps Handicap Hurdle, Magners Plate Handicap Chase, Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle and Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap Chase too.

The 2016 Gold Cup winner with Don Cossack has a few favourites on Day 3. These include Mighty Potter who is favourite for the Turners Novices’ Chase, as well as some hopefuls in the Ryanair Chase, Stayers’ Hurdle and Pertemps respectively.
Do not rule any of Elliott’s 17 Day 3 runners out from at least making it into the each-way places, if not picking up a couple of wins.
The Irish trainer believes his best festival chance comes on Thursday with Mighty Potter in the Turners Novices’ Chase. However, he also has a few big chances on Day 3 at Cheltenham this year including Teahupoo, Fury Road, Maxxum and Halka Du Tabert.
Elliott is also priced at 15/2 as the second favourite with leading bookmaker BoyleSports to be the 2023 Cheltenham Festival Top Trainer.
