Tyneside club Newcastle United head down to the capital for the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday evening as they take on Fulham, where both sides will be hoping to return to winning ways after poor spells of form.
The Cottagers played out a 1-1 stalemate with Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday night, but exited the competition on aggregate, following on from back-to-back defeats against Chelsea and the Reds.
Their last win came in the previous round of the competition in a 1-0 triumph over Championship strugglers Rotherham, and the same can be said for the Magpies who defeated bitter rivals Sunderland 3-0.
Eddie Howe’s side have been afforded a two weeks rest since their last fixture. They fought from behind to lead 2-1 against Manchester City in that one, but for the return of Kevin De Bruyne to shatter their dreams as they fell to a 3-2 defeat in the dying moments of the tie.
Newcastle and Fulham meet for the second time this season, with their last meeting ending 3-0 in favour of the Premier League‘s northernmost club back in December. In fact, the Magpies have a strong record in this fixture as of late – winning each of the pair’s last four meetings across all competitions.

The Cottagers’ Africa Cup of Nations absentees Fode Ballo-Toure, Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi remain unavailable as both Senegal and Nigeria have advanced to the competition’s knockout stages, meanwhile Adama Traore is expected to miss out due to a thigh problem.
Harry Wilson could force his way into the line-up after impressing off the bench against Liverpool in midweek, where the Welshman provided the assist for Issa Diop’s leveller in the second half.
