France Vs Scotland Preview

Both sides head into the game after confirming their place at next summer’s Euro 2024 in Germany over the weekend. France sealed their spot at next year’s finals after beating the Netherlands 2-1 on Friday. Meanwhile, Scotland made it through after Norway failed to beat Spain on Sunday evening.

Les Bleus were impressive winners last week to see of the Dutch as Kylian Mbappe scored a brace as Didier Deschamps side kept up their 100% record in Group B.

As for Scotland, they needed to avoid defeat to Spain last time out to secure their spot in Germany next summer. However, Steve Clarke’s side were made to wait a few more days for confirmation of their involvement as they lost 2-0 to the Spaniards. Scott McTominay thought he’d put the Scots 1-0 up with a terrific free-kick, but it was controversially ruled out by VAR.

The Tartan army will hope to put up a big performance against last year’s World Cup finalists as they can now start thinking about preparation for the Euros next June

Scotland lost the last time the sides met back in 2016, with the French winning 3-0 that day, so will need something special to get the better of them this time around.
