1. Wembley Stadium (90,652 capacity)

Wembley is the home of the England national football team and also hosts major football matches including the FA Cup final, EFL Cup final and sometimes the Champions League final.

It’s the largest stadium in the UK and the second-largest stadium in Europe. Wembley hosted the Euro 2020 final and the Women’s Euro 2022 final.

2. Principality Stadium (73,952 capacity)

The Principality Stadium, also known as the Millennium Stadium or National Stadium of Wales, is located in Cardiff and the home of the Wales national rugby union team.

It has also held Wales national football team games and was initially built to host the 1999 Rugby World Cup. When Wembley was being redeveloped between 2001 and 2006, it hosted the FA Cup, League Cup and EFL play-off finals.

3. Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (62,322 capacity)

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the home of Premier League club Spurs and replaced the club’s previous ground, White Hart Lane in 2019.

It’s the third-largest football stadium in England, the largest club ground in London, and was designed to be a multi-purpose stadium – also the home of the NFL in the UK.

4. Etihad Stadium (61,000 capacity)

The Etihad Stadium, also known as the City of Manchester Stadium, is the home of Premier League club Manchester City. It’s the sixth-largest football ground in England.

It was built to host the 2022 Commonwealth Games and has since staged the 2008 UEFA Cup final, England matches, rugby league games, boxing fights and music concerts.

5. Everton Stadium (52,679 capacity)

The Everton Stadium is one of two venues which will host a Euro 2028 game that is still in construction. Located on Bramley-Moore Dock in Vauxhall, Liverpool, it will become Everton FC’s new home in 2024.

It is intended that the new stadium will become the heart of a new mixed-use development in the area filled with shops, housing and other venues.

6. St James’ Park (52,305 capacity)

St James’ Park is the home of Premier League club Newcastle United and is the eighth-largest football stadium in England. It has been used for football since 1880.

It has been used for international football, the 2012 Olympics, rugby league and union, cricket matches and music concerts.

7. Villa Park (52,190 capacity)

Villa Park has been the home of Aston Villa FC since 1897 and has hosted 55 FA Cup semi-finals, more than any other stadium, as well as being the tenth-largest in England.

Hampden Park is the national stadium of football in Scotland and home of the Scotland national football team. It hosts the final stages of the Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup.

Like many others on this list, it has been used for music concerts and also hosted the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

9. Aviva Stadium (51,711 capacity)

The Aviva Stadium, also known as Lansdowne Road or the Dublin Arena, is home to the Republic of Ireland football team and Irish rugby union team.

It was built on the site of the former Lansdowne Road Stadium, which was demolished in 2007. It became Ireland’s first and only UEFA Category 4 Stadium, hosting the Europa League final in 2011.

10. Casement Park (34,500 capacity)

Casement Park is the other stadium on this list currently in construction, based in Belfast in the North of Ireland. Currently, it is the principal Gaelic games stadium.

Plans to redevelop the stadium have been in place for over ten years but political instability and other issues behind the scenes such as planning permission have got in the way.
