The FA Cup outright betting market saw holders Liverpool cut from 10/1 into 7/1, to successfully defend their title, after seeing off Wolves 1-0 in their Third Round Reply on Tuesday night. The Reds will now face Brighton in the Fourth Round at the end of January.

Liverpool See Off Wolves 1-0 at Molineux

After being held 2-2 at Anfield on January 7th, Liverpool needed a replay against Wolverhampton Wanderers to make it into the FA Cup Fourth Round.

The 8-time FA Cup winners came into the game off the back of a humiliating 3-0 defeat against Brighton in the Premier League last weekend, but managed to bounce back on Tuesday night with a 1-0 win over Wolves thanks to a Harvey Elliott screamer (watch below) – this was Liverpool’s first win in this competition over Wanderers in their last four clashes.

Bookmakers Reacted By Cutting Liverpool From 10/1 to 7/1 for 2023 FA Cup Glory

After the game, the layers quickly shifted the FA outright betting odds on Liverpool from 10/1 into 7/1 with BetUK as the Merseyside club look to defend their cup crown, but Manchester City remain the FA Cup favourites @ 5/2.

The Reds have won the FA Cup 8 times – the same as Chelsea and Spurs – so, if they do become the first side to win back-to-back FA Cups since Arsenal in 2014-15, they will move up to the third most successful side in this competition in their own right.

Next Up For Liverpool Is Another Meeting With Brighton

Brighton were waiting for the winners of Wolves or Liverpool and the Seagulls will now know it’s the Merseyside team that will be travelling to the south coast.

The last time the sides met in the FA Cup it resulted in a 6-1 Liverpool win back in 2012.

However, that was over 10 years ago and more recent form suggests Brighton won’t have too much concern and will be full of confidence of beating the Reds after seeing them off 3-0 recently in the League at the Amex Stadium.

Manchester City, still head the FA Cup outright betting  at 5/2 after beating Chelsea 4-0 on Sunday and now know they will face Arsenal, who are the all-time FA Cup winners, in what will be the big highlight of the Fourth Round.

The Gunners are into 9/1 (from 11/1) to go all the way after seeing off Oxford in the Third Round.

Manchester United were cut from 10/1 into 4/1  after their easy 3-1 home victory on over fellow Premier League team Everton – the Red Devils will now take on Reading at home in the Fourth Round.

Liverpool  and Tottenham, who beat Portsmouth, follow in the outright FA Cup betting market – both @ 7/1. Liverpool will face Brighton next and Spurs travel to Preston North End.
