Gareth Southgate has announced his England squad for their upcoming Euro qualifiers in June, with Eberechi Eze earning his first call-up for the Three Lions.

England will play Malta and North Macedonia in June and with the Premier League season finishing this weekend, Gareth Southgate has selected his 23 man squad.

Eberechi Eze has been a standout player for Crystal Palace in their last two seasons and the popular 24-year-old midfielder has ten goals and four assists this season, which has earned him a call-up for the qualifiers.

Another player from Palace to earn a place in the Three Lions squad is Marc Guehi, who has been a rock at the back for the Eagles in a solid Premier League season.

Amongst those left out of the England squad for June was Raheem Sterling, who gas struggled for game time at a woeful Chelsea this season.

Sterling has scored just six goals for Chelsea this season, but has still been one of their better players in a disappointing season for the Blues.

Southgate said the reason Sterling wasn’t selected was due to his fitness however and assured fans that it was simply as a precaution:

“He is not happy with his condition physically, carrying a hamstring problem. He wasn’t really in consideration.

“He doesn’t think he is operating at the level he needs.”

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Lewis Dunk and Tyrone Mings have all been recalled to the squad after being left out by Southgate previously. See full England squad below.
