Youssef En-Nesyri is one of the new striker options West Ham will explore ahead of next season.

It is all change at the London Stadium as David Moyes will be replaced in the dugout by Julen Lopetegui, and there are upgrades to be made to the squad when the new man starts to settle.

Technical director Tim Steidten was involved in the appointment of Lopetegui and will lead the work on transfer decisions as the team takes shape for the next campaign.

One of the priority areas to fix will be the centre forward position, with Youssef En-Nesyri one of the chief options being explored.

As with any West Ham window, they will cast the net wide in order to seek value and quality, but Steidten will have the major say on deciding how plausible a transfer looks.

En-Nesyri, 26, has been on their radar for a couple of years and is to become an even more intriguing target this summer – the Moroccan could finally become available for transfer away from La Liga.

His contract with the Spanish club is set to expire in 2025 and there has been a feeling they could cash in this summer and look to reinvest again.

He has been a key asset to Sevilla in recent seasons and Lopetegui knows him well from their time together at the club. He was one of his most used players during his tenure, and that adds weight to any push West Ham make in his direction at the end of this season.

En-Nesyri has scored 17 times this season, but their search for further firepower won’t be limited to the Sevilla forward. A search closer to home may be preferable, with proven Premier League experience desirable.

Dominic Solanke of Bournemouth was considered last summer and will be back on the list at a time when the Cherries might seriously consider a sale.

West Ham also plan to take a look at Tammy Abraham’s situation at AS Roma, among other names they will look into in France, Germany and Brazil.
