After freezing cold weather swept through the UK last week, plenty of top jumps cards were forced to cancel their meetings. However, the good news for National Hunt fans is that the Doncaster going report is currently “good-to-soft” (good in places) ahead of the upcoming Great Yorkshire Chase Weekend.
Temperatures are back on the rise and look to be between 7-9 degrees on Saturday 27th January, and a bit higher on Sunday 28th at 11-12 degrees, with no chance of rain on either day.
The next bit of rain forecast in Doncaster is on Thursday, but that is expected to clear up by Friday morning so the weekend’s meeting should not be affected too much.
Donny’s Great Yorkshire Chase Weekend is one of their biggest jumps meetings of the season, so excitement will be high heading into the fixture.
The proceedings on Saturday will feature five Class 1 races including the Great Yorkshire Handicap Chase amongst many other top contests. Meanwhile the big race on Sunday is the rearranged Grade 2 Warfield Mares’ Hurdle – which was on the cancelled Ascot card last weekend.
