Just two days ago, Crystal Palace announced the sacking of Patrick Vieira after failing to win a single game throughout the start of 2023 and misery is piled on the Eagles with defeat in north London.
Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring before Bukayo Saka added a second just shy of half time. Granit Xhaka made it 3-0 ten minutes after the restart and Jeffrey Schlupp bagged a consolation for the visitors eight minutes later.
Saka’s second goal of the afternoon sealed the three points for Arsenal as the 21-year-old became the first Premier League player this season to hit ten goals and ten assists.

Any three of the eight teams above could go down but it appears south coast pair Southampton and Bournemouth are doomed for demotion to England’s second tier.
Palace have failed to win in their last 12 domestic outings including four losses on the bounce, but an opportunity to gain some ground lies ahead.

Roy Hodgson has been tipped to return as Palace boss until the end of the season after being replaced in July 2021 by Patrick Vieira.
