Cheltenham Going Report Ahead Of Trials Day 2024
After a spell of cold weather, that has claimed a lot of jumping cards – the good news for Prestbury Park is the Cheltenham going report is currently ‘good-to-soft’ (soft in places) and the track are not expecting any issues ahead of Saturday’s Trials Day fixture.
Temperatures are also up and looking to be between 9-12 degrees in the build-up to race day on Saturday 27th January.
The only slight concern the track will have is a ‘yellow wind warning’ in place for the Wednesday, but that is expected to clear and is also three days before Cheltenham race.
Trials Day at Cheltenham is one of the biggest dates at Presbury Park outside the Festival and is also the final afternoon of racing at the track before the four day Festival in March.
The action will also feature last weekend’s cancelled Ascot Clarence House Chase and the hot favourite Jonbon.

See below the expected Met Office forecast for Cheltenham racecourse on Saturday. The Gloucestershire area is expected to have some dry (but cloudy) days in the build-up to their big Trials Day card this weekend, that will also feature five LIVE ITV races.
Despite a recent spell of cancelled horse racing meetings, temperatures have warmed up and there are not expected to be any ‘frozen track’ issues at Cheltenham this weekend.
There is, however, a yellow wind warning in place for Wednesday (24th), but after that things brighten up with Friday looking sunny.
While no rain is forecast in the build-up to the meeting on Saturday.
