BBC Radio To Air ALL 28 Cheltenham Festival 2024 Races Free Of Charge

Starting on Tuesday 12th of March, BBC Radio will be covering all 28 races right through the week, live from the 2024 Cheltenham Festival.

Getting underway with the highly-anticipated Supreme Novices’ Hurdle (1:30), Willie Mullins appears to have a strong hand as he searches for his eighth win in the contest with the likes of Mystical Power and Tullyhill towards the top of the market.

They will continue to cover the action throughout the week, including the showpiece Gold Cup on Friday 15th March where Galopin Des Champs looks to defend his crown successfully.

You can listen to the commentary on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra, starting at 1:15pm every day. The show will finish at 5:45pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, with Thursday and Friday seeing a 15-minute extension, ending at 6:00pm.

Meanwhile BBC Radio 5 Live will also be covering one race a day too, and they will be highlighted in BOLD below.

Who Will Present The Cheltenham Festival On BBC Radio?

Commentary will come from John Hunt throughout the week, with Gina Bryce presenting the show from Tuesday to Thursday. Meanwhile Mark Chapman will present on Friday for Gold Cup day.

BBC will also have some former jockeys involved with the coverage too, with Andrew Thornton and Claire Poste also part of the team, whilst Rob Nothman will be at Prestbury Park on reporting duty.
