Promotion-chasing Leeds travel to Premier League big spenders Chelsea in the FA Cup fifth round on Wednesday evening. The two squad values are separated by over £600million, but the game itself is expected to be a tight one.

Mauricio Pochettino witnessed his side lose in the EFL Cup final against Liverpool, despite the Reds missing lots of key players. Now, he needs to prepare his side to face Championship high-flyers, Leeds United.

We at SportLens have compared the Chelsea and Leeds United squad values as they prepare to lock horns in the FA Cup fifth round.

Chelsea vs Leeds Squad Values Compared: Positional Breakdown

Goalkeepers

Chelsea started the season with Spaniard Robert Sanchez (£25.6m) in goal, but Djordje Petrovic (£7.69m) has been in goal since Sanchez got injured – the pair are worth a combined £33.29m. Sanchez returned to the squad for the EFL Cup final, but Petrovic kept his spot in goal. The Serb should be in goal again for Poch’s side.

Leeds United’s number one this season has been Frenchmen Illan Meslier (£15.4m), with Kristoffer Klaesson (£1.53m) playing in the FA Cup this season. The pair’s compared value of £16.93m is some way off the value of Chelsea’s goalkeepers.

Defenders

Chelsea’s most valuable defender is 21-year-old Englishman, Levi Colwill who’s valued at £47.04m. He’s closely followed by their injured captain Reece James (£42.77m) and Axel Disasi (£35.92m). Alfie Gilchrist is their lowest-valued defender, valued at £256k.

Leeds’ most valuable defender is some way off Colwill, Pascal Struijk’s value of £15.39m is some £30m off Colwill. Unfortunately, Struijk is injured and will miss this FA Cup tie. Connor Roberts (£5.98m) and Joe Rodon (£5.13m) come second and third behind Struijk.

Midfielders

The difference in squad value really shows when you compare the two squads’ midfields. Chelsea’s highest valued midfielder is Moisés Caicedo who is valued at £77m. He’s followed by World Cup winner Enzo Fernández, who’s valued at £68.44m.

Leeds’ most valuable midfielder is 17-year-old sensation, Archie Gray, who’s valued at £11.97m. Former Chelsea man, Ethan Ampadu is close behind Gray, valued at £10.26m

Attackers

Chelsea boasts a wealth of attackers, and it’s Raheem Sterling who leads the way in their attacker’s valuation. The England forward is valued at £38.5. Mykhaylo Mudryk (£34.22m) and Nicolas Jackson (£29.94m) are close behind Sterling.

Leeds do have quality attackers in their squad, a reason they’re doing so well this season in the league. Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter both lead the way, valued at £15.4m. Wilfried Gnonto is a close second, valued at £13.68m
