Friday night’s FA Cup fourth round action sees Premier League duo Chelsea and Aston Villa face off at Stamford Bridge, where both sides will be hoping to extend their current unbeaten run across all competitions.
The Blues’ midweek 6-1 battering of Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup semi-final confirmed their place in February’s final, and saw them record a fifth victory in their last six matches in league and cup play.
It followed on from a narrow 1-0 win over bitter rivals Fulham just under two weeks back, meanwhile Villa were in action against Everton and were held to a goalless stalemate on Merseyside.
Unai Emery’s side are now unbeaten in three straight matches, and have tasted defeat just once in their last 14 games across domestic and European competitions – a run that includes impressive wins over Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham.
Villa and Chelsea have already met at the ‘Bridge once this term, in which Ollie Watkins netted the only goal of the tie to ensure a crucial three points for the West Midlands outfit back in late-September.

Following on from the Middlesbrough drubbing in midweek, Chelsea remain with an extensive injury list that sees at least seven first team stars ruled out for Villa’s visit to the capital.
All of Wesley Fofana (knee), Reece James (thigh), Marc Cucurella (ankle), Romeo Lavia (thigh), Robert Sanchez (knee), Lesley Ugochukwu (thigh) and Nicolas Jackson (international duty) are all set to miss out, meanwhile Malo Gusto (unknown) and Christopher Nkunku (groin) are serious doubts also.
