Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is now reportedly considering taking a pay cut in order to secure a return to Barcelona this summer.

Aubameyang joined the Blues from Spain in the summer for around £10 million, with Marcos Alonso heading the other way to the Nou Camp.

The Gabonese international has struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge – scoring just once in 12 Premier League matches.

Since Graham Potter’s arrival at the club, the 33-year-old has been frozen out of the squad. His last appearance came as a late substitute in the 2-0 loss to Tottenham at the end of February.

The French-born striker is believed to be frustrated by his lack of involvement under Potter.

And now, according to Spanish outlet Sport, ‘Auba’ is willing to lower his salary to re-join the Blaugrana this summer.

The La Liga leaders are said to be considering a one-year loan option for the forward, who was recently pictured at Barca’s El Clasico win over Real Madrid.

At the same time however, Barcelona are prioritising a deal for another striker.

Xavi’s side are said to have made a bid in the region of £22 million for 18-year-old Athletico Paranense man Vitor Roque back in February, but were turned down.

Although they were rejected, he is still top of their list to come in as their back-up striker. The Brazilian is considered to be a top level future star by the club.

If a move for Roque doesn’t materialise, Barca could well turn back to Aubameyang to secure his services for a year.
