Chelsea have enjoyed one of the most successful January transfer windows of all-time, spending almost £300m in a month.

The Blues spent more in January (£288m) than the combined totals from every Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A and Bundesliga side.

Chelsea also accounted for 37% of the total amount spent by Premier League clubs in the window, bringing in:

  • Joao Felix, CF (Atletico Madrid) – Loan
  • David Datro Fofana, CF (Molde) – £10.6m
  • Andrey Santos, CM (Vasco da Gama) – £11m
  • Malo Gusto, RB (Lyon) – £26.5m
  • Noni Madueke, RW (PSV) – £31m
  • Benoit Badiashile, CB (Monaco) – £33.5m
  • Mykhaylo Mudryk, LW (Shakhtar) – £61m
  • Enzo Fernandes, CM (Benfica) – £107m

This season, Chelsea have spent over £200m more than the second-highest spending spree by a club in football history.

Since Todd Boehly’s takeover on May 30, 2022, the London club have signed 18 new players and completely redeveloped the 2021 Champions of Europe.

Can Chelsea reach the top 4 this season?

According to Premier League betting sites, Chelsea are 8/1 to finish in the top four and face an uphill challenge to qualify for European football.

Despite record numbers of spending in both the summer and winter transfer windows, Chelsea find themselves 10th in the league and dumped out of both domestic cups.

Besides the remaining league campaign, the Blues will have laser focus on the upcoming Champions League knockout tie against Borussia Dortmund in two weeks.

The two-time European Cup winners have the seventh-best odds to lift the trophy according to Champions League betting sites.

Manchester City, Bayern Munich, PSG, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Napoli are considered the only teams with better chances than Chelsea.

Graham Potter’s side will now turn their attention to Friday night’s clash at Stamford Bridge against local rivals Fulham in the Premier League.
