SportsLens Head of News Lee Astley, said: “The news coming out of Italy about Victor Osimhen’s situation at Napoli has sparked a lot of talk online regarding his future after it was reported that his agent is threatening legal action following the controversial TikToks posted by the club.

“Chelsea are the current 2/1 favourites to sign the Nigeria international after they were heavily interested in bringing him to Stamford Bridge in the summer. They opted to go for Nicolas Jackson instead, which has not quite worked out as of yet, but it is still early days of course.

“We know the Blues have plenty of financial backing behind them, so if Osimhen was to hand in a transfer request away from Napoli, then the goal-shy West London side would surely be tempted to make a bid.

“He is 6/1 to sign for any Saudi Pro League side and it would not be surprising to see a side from the league push to sign him considering the money he was offered to go there in the summer. Al Hilal put a £1m-per-week contract on the table, but Osimhen chose to stay in Naples. If he becomes available in January, they may well revisit that and go in for him once again.

“Manchester United are another side to have past links to Osimhen, and wanted to sign him in the summer when they were on the hunt for a striker. However, the asking price was too much and he could be much cheaper in January after everything that has gone on over the past few days. They do have Rasmus Højlund though now, so they are unlikely to spend big again on another striker so soon and are priced at 20/1.”
