Graham Potter’s time at Chelsea could be nearing an end, with the Englishman being one of the favourites in the next Premier League manager to be sacked odds.
Chelsea have been handed a major injury boost ahead of their Premier League tie away at Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend. It comes at a good time for Blues boss Graham Potter, as the 47-year-old is now the second favourite in the next Premier League manager to be sacked odds.
The Blues currently sit in 10th place in the Premier League table, and are without a win in their last four league outings.
Despite spending over half a billion pounds this season, Chelsea may have to look towards players returning from injury to save their season.
N’Golo Kante Nearing Return
World Cup winner N’Golo Kante is yet to feature under Potter due to a hamstring injury, but has recently been involved with light training.
Potter has confirmed that Kante won’t be available for the Spurs clash, but could have an involvement in the near future.
The Telegraph’s Matt Law shared an update on the midfielder’s fitness on the London is Blue podcast.
“There’s a lot of excitement around the fitness he’s going to come back with. They’ve taken it super slowly and have been very careful with his return.”
Cesar Azpilicueta and Christian Pulisic Updates
Pulisic is currently out with a knee injury, with Azpilicueta recovering from a concussion suffered at the weekend. In his pre-match press-conference, Potter provided an update on the pair.
“He’s [Azpilicueta] as ok as can be when you’ve had that concussion,” he said.
“He won’t be ready for the weekend as we have to go through the protocols, but he’s doing well.
“We’ve had a good week’s training, everyone is available pretty much apart from N’Golo [Kante] and Christian Pulisic. They are making progress, joining the warm-ups, and they will be more integrated next week. So that is good.”
