In the latest Chelsea transfer news, German giants Borussia Dortmund are reportedly monitoring the situation of Conor Gallagher, as the midfielder looks set to depart Stamford Bridge this summer.

Chelsea Transfer News

According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Borussia Dortmund are keeping tabs on Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.

Gallagher has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge for several months now, with Newcastle and Liverpool the most rumoured sides to secure his signature.

But now, a new player looks to have entered the game – in the form of Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.

Plettenberg broke the news over on his Twitter account.

“He’s [Gallagher] on the list of Borussia Dortmund – confirmed. They are monitoring his situation. But nothing advanced at this stage. No concrete talks.” he said.

“His future at Chelsea is open. Understand he could really leave Chelsea in the summer. Valuation of around €5omillion.”

Despite being out-of-favour with the Blues, Gallagher has still managed to rack up 38 appearances for the club in all competitions this term.

This is just one less game than what he featured in during the last campaign where he impressed on loan at Crystal Palace.

He has played less than half of the minutes he played at Selhurst Park however, with most of his games this season coming as a substitute.

With just two goals and one assist to his name in the Premier League during 2022/23, Gallagher looks set to depart this summer.

His exit likely will have been accelerated by Chelsea’s need to rack up funds to comply with financial fair play regulations.

Due to spending upwards of £600million on transfers in the last 12-months, the Blues will have to sell some of their assets, with Gallagher and Mason Mount expected to leave the club.
