Barcelona vs Porto Prediction

In one of the most intruiging battles on Matchday 5 of the Champions League, La Liga giants Barcelona host Portuguese outfit Porto in a clash of the titans with both sides level on points at the top of Group H.

Barcelona and Porto have three wins and one loss alike across the current campaign. The Catalans were handed a shock defeat vs Shakhtar earlier this month, whilst Porto were beaten by Tuesday’s opponents in the reverse fixture in October.

The hosts are unbeaten in their last two in La Liga with a win vs Alaves and draw vs Rayo Vallecano in their stride, whilst Porto have won three straight. With little to separate the two in this competition so far, we’re in for a treat.

It was a close game in Portugal with Barcelona coming away 1-0 winners thanks to Ferran Torres’ winner in first half stoppage time, but Porto accumulated a much greater xG and felt they should’ve earned at the very least a point.

We at SportsLens expect this one to be a close end-to-end encounter, but this competition remains Barcelona’s forte and they’ve already got the better of their opponents on the road.

Prediction: Barcelona 3-1 Porto

Barcelona vs Porto Betting Tips

  • Barcelona To Win @ 1/2
  • Robert Lewandowski Anytime Goalscorer @ 1/1
  • Combined Bet Builder Odds @ 6/4

Barcelona vs Porto Betting Tip 1: Barcelona To Win @ 1/2

Barcelona will feel they have to beat Porto at home on Tuesday night to put themselves in the best possible position to qualify for the knockout stages as the top seed in Group H.

They’ll have to achieve a feat they’ve done once already this campaign, beating Porto. It should be an easier task in front of their home crowd, but will be by no means a walk in the park.

The Catalans have won both of their home games in the Champions League this season and look poised to continue their impressive form at the Olympic Stadium.

This is why we at SportsLens are backing Barcelona to reign victorious over Porto, priced at 1/2 by the majority of top UK bookmakers.

Barcelona vs Porto Betting Tip 2: Robert Lewandoswki Anytime Goalscorer @ 1/1

Robert Lewandowski is heading into Tuesday’s showdown in fine form, with two goals in his last two for Barcelona alongside a goal on the international stage for Poland in a recent friendly vs Latvia.

The Pole loves playing in this competition and he’s bagged at home already this campaign vs Royal Antwerp in September. He’s Barcelona’s main man up front and is one of the most experienced players in the game.

Backing Lewandowski to score anytime vs Porto at even money looks a sold selection, or you could combine it with Barcelona to win for a 6/4 multiple.
