All in all, it resulted in the second biggest single-season prize money figure, standing at $16,349,701, surpassed only by Novak Djokovic a year earlier.
As well as this, the Scotsman won his first ever major in 2012 at the US Open and a total of 46 singles titles up to this point, including 14 Masters 1000 trophies.
He ranks fourth in the all-time career earnings charts behind tennis’ trophy-laden ‘Big Three’ having amassed a grand total of $64,253,236 in cumulative prize money.
